Heyyy Socialites!!! My name is Janai and since we're friends over here, you can call me Nai or Nai Boogie. I am a Philly native currently residing in New Jersey with my husband Sean and our fur baby Madison.

I have been passionate about writing since I can remember and have kept a journal since I was 15 years old. In 2014 during my second nervous breakdown (I've had 4) at five in the morning I decided to do my makeup and write about my fears on a blog titled The Style Files of Jane. I also made proclamations about living on purpose and how I was using fashion to help me during some of the scariest moments in my life. The Untamed Socialite was born two years later during my 3rd nervous breakdown, after telling my husband "I just want to be a social butterfly like I was before this" he affirmed to me that I could do so and on my own terms. 

The Untamed Socialite has been a space where I can bare my soul and be my most vulnerable self; even when it's uncomfortable and not picture perfect. I am able to speak candidly about my struggles with mental health in hopes to break the stigma around it. I share the work I am doing with my therapist and on my own to heal my past and present traumas; as well as highlight my love for beauty and fashion. 

If one person can see themselves in my story and decide not to give up, then my I am fulfilled!
